YouTube Rewind: Turn Down For 2014
t’s almost the end of the year and you know what that means: YouTube rewind. I’m sure that by now, you probably have seen YouTube’s video recounting every trend of 2014.
Last year I wrote about it as well. If you haven’t seen the YouTube Rewind video’s yet, go watch them, ’cause they’re pretty damned good.
Last year, the video included lots of American youtubers, this year it’s bigger. And I love it. Not only did they include American youtubers, but they united youtubers from all over the world. You probably recognized some British youtubers like Dan and Phil, but lots of Asian youtubers made an appearance. Unfortunately, I didn’t know lots of them, but still, it must be awesome for Asia to recognize some of their idols. I was ecstatic when I saw Cyprien who is a French youtuber, as mentioned in the BTS video.
This year’s rewind included Frozen, Let me Take a Selfie, Bang Bang, First Kiss, ALS ice bucket challenge, …
Some of the youtubers making an appearance were Hank and John Green, Connor Franta, Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart, Jenna Marbles, Smosh,… Over 90 by my count.
It started with PewDiePie, which I think is only fitting, doing a cool ‘through the floor jump’. A sequence I also loved was Conan O’Brien running on his set and Tyler Oakley being awesome.
I’m not going to spoil it all, for those who haven’t seen the video yet, but I will say this: even though I thought the video was great, I honestly preferred last year’s rewind as I think it was more upbeat and fun. It also seemed like the youtubers enjoyed it more last year.
